I offer TED-style talks on a variety of topics. These are focused on distilling various aspects of the creative mindset, providing a novel perspective on living a creative life from a practical and philosophical level. Based upon my 20-year career as a musician, music producer, creative entrepreneur, and PhD research in the fields of music and psychology, these talks provide new ways of thinking about business, relationships, spirituality, health, problem solving, and creativity.

I have been studying the role of arts in society for the past 20 years, both through my professional music career and research projects that investigate artist’s perspective on the meaning of art, arts practice, and arts relationship to psychology, spirituality, culture, and tradition. Xook is one such research project that explored creativity through in-depth interviews with leading artists in various disciplines.
Sponsored by the City of Sydney, the Xook project showcased the diverse perspectives of ten artists. It explored the attitudes, challenges, and cultural perspectives of working in the arts industry, enabling each artist to contribute to the wider discussion about the value of the arts. The results helped refine my ideas about what constitutes a creative life, mindset, and way of being.
